RUGBY'S Mitch Bower believes his side is far from their best at the moment but was still happy to see the defending premiers winning matches after a 15-run victory over the Castlereagh Hornets in the McDonald's Megahit on Friday night.

Rugby were cruising in the early stages of the match as they raced to 3-70 from eight overs but the Hornets, South Dubbo's Twenty20 side, fought back through the middle stages to dismiss Rugby for 136.
The Hornets had a star-studded batting lineup with Tim Berry, Matt Finlay, Adam Wells and veteran John Colwell all playing but all the Rugby bowlers kept the pressure on as they kept the score to 7-121 at the end of their 20 overs.
Bower earlier made 43 at the top of the order for Rugby but after he and Jordan Moran (21) departed the Souths bowlers lifted and produced some top class short-form bowling
"We ended up with 40 less runs than what we wanted early on, me and Jordan got us off to a good start and then we went a bit quiet through the middle but it was still a decent score," Bower said.
"We're still playing mediocre cricket, I think we're only at about 60 per cent of our potential, some of it has been pretty bad but we're still winning so you can't complain too much."
Bower said he was impressed with the Souths bowlers, highlighting Colwell (3-17 from 3.5), Justin Knudsen (2-20 from four) and Scott Tucker (0-24 from three) as their best.
"Souths bowled really well, usually they rely on Tim Berry but he was more expensive than their other bowlers and they really stood up," he said.
"They just played a lot better than they usually do when 'Bezz' doesn't take wickets and they didn't rely on him."
Rugby's bowlers also impressed as they restricted Souths through the middle overs.
Will Wolter (33) and Wells (26) has set the platform for the Hornets and with ten overs remaining they were well in the hunt with the score at 2-66.
But Bower (3-23) ensured no runs were easy to come by and took the key wickets of both Wolter, Wells and Colwell while Tim Berry was runout after a suicidal quick single.
Ben Patterson (0-4 from three) and Jordan Moran (2-8 from two) were other bowlers to impress in the win and Bower said the performance in the field was exactly what was needed.
"Everyone did a job, we had a low total so we knew we had to bowl well because Souths had a few blokes back," he said, before speaking about the need to improve.
"A score of 130 is not going to be enough in the big matches, it's something to bowl at but it's not always a match winning total."
The win makes it back-to-back victories for Rugby in the Megahit after their opening loss to Christie's Crackerjacks and despite the need to improve Bower said his side is still the one to beat in the Twenty20 competition.
"We don't think there's a team that can beat us when we perform to our best, we play like that in every match, we know we can every match we play," he said.
