The Conservatorium will host three sessions for children of various ages next Tuesday.
Macquarie Conservatorium Director Vivienne Winther said the 30-minute sessions aim to get children involved in music early.
"The aim of the come and try day is to make people aware of the programs we run," she said.
"Children can start to get involved with music at any age.
"The sessions give children a good grounding in the basics of music."
The MusicPlay sessions for two to three year olds will run from 9.30am, MusicPlay for four to five year olds will run from 10.30am and the MusicMakers session for five to six year olds will run from 4pm.
Ms Winther said the sessions would teach parents activities to do with their children at home.
She added children learning music would notice change in aspects of their lives.
"There are benefits of learning music which flows onto learning other skills," Ms Winther said.
