The CRL Western and Far Western Academy squads have a combined 80 players and they were put through their paces by Academy staff, as well as staff from the Penrith Panthers
Recently retired NRL players assisted coaches in the field session before they led an NRL welfare Careerwise session.
The camp was the start of a busy period for the players, who early next year will have a similar session at Orange on January 17, followed by a training camp and trials against the Penrith Panthers on January 22 and 23.
On January 31 there will be trial games between Western Academy, Newcastle Knights squads and Far West Academy at the Glen Willow Sporting Complex Mudgee while on February 7 the Western Academy will play a trial against Riverina Academy at Griffith as curtain raiser to the Melbourne Storm v Canberra Raiders NRL trial.
