IT is not every day the red-head brigade are acknowledged for their flaming locks, but when they are, they do it in style.

A Dubbo man is in the running to be crowned Australia's Sexiest Ginger as well as the gentleman with the Best Ginger Beard, in a nationwide search to find Australia's Hottest Ginger.
Michael Collie is tipped to be favourite red head in the country, receiving more than 2000 votes in favour of his ginger tinge since he entered the competition two weeks ago.
"I saw a promo for the competition and I thought I would enter for a laugh," Mr Collie said.
Sponsored by Buderim Ginger Beer, Mr Collie is a top contender for both the Australia's Sexiest Ginger and Best Ginger Beard categories, which in turn could leave him walking away with more than $10,000 of prize money.
"There are some pretty good prizes up for grabs if I win, a lot of ginger-related merchandise, a trip away and even a 12-month modelling contract," he said.
Although the beard may not be for everyone, Mr Collie said he was completely taken by surprise when he saw his submitted photo had even made it across the pond to the United Kingdom.
"I was scrolling through the Daily Mail website and saw they had done an article on the Australia's Hottest Ginger," he said.
"Needless to say I was stoked when I found out they had used my face as one of the entries advertising the competition."
Mr Collie's Ned Kelly-inspired beard took him three years to grow.
Now living in Brisbane and working for Telstra, the ginger ninja said he had always held a special place for Dubbo in his heart.
Setting fire to the stigma around the red-headed folk, the search for Australia's Hottest Ginger was designed to unearth and celebrate Australia's ginger talent, from male and female beauties to the furry, four-legged friends.
