Trained by Robert Toomey and Graham Wallace at the Pound For Pound gym, Barker stopped Newcastle-based opponent Jess Batty in the third round of their bout on a night which Wallace described as one of the best he's seen in a long time.
"The card they had, even though it was all amateur fights, was probably better than any of those pay-per-view professional shows you see on television," Wallace said.
"There was some bloody good fights on the night and a lot of talented boxers, and Ayla was one of the most impressive.
"We've taken her down to Sydney for some different trials, and even though she's good enough the fighters down there just have the advantage of being able to take on fighters of a better standard more often.
"Ayla trains with some good male boxers here but it's hard to find enough good competition for her."
Barker's win came after she had previously won the title in the 60kg division, and Wallace said plans were in place for her to possibly defend her most recent belt at a fight night at the Amaroo Hotel on December 20.
"She trains so hard and she's so determined. We told her to have a week off after Saturday night but she will be back in the gym on Wednesday," Wallace said.
"She's unbeaten in six bouts now and that just comes down to her toughness and strength.
"I've seen a lot of boxers over my time but she trains hard three times a week in the gym, and also does some work at home, and she's a landscape gardener with council as well so her work is quite physical as well.
"Because she's so keen we will look at trying to match her up for a title defence in Dubbo next month."
