About 60 players took part in the inaugural event, which was played under a four-person ambrose format and also attracted good sponsorship for each of the 18 holes.
"We haven't done a final count but just judging on very basic figures there has to be more than $10,000 there simply though the players we had, the sponsorships and some auctions," Castlereagh Hotel publican Nelson Kelly said.
"Because it was the first golf day we've run, the organisation probably wasn't as good as it could have been and there's some things we can work on but overall it was a great success."
Kelly said the idea for the golf day was to continue the work done by local clubs and pubs in the community.
And with the first event now behind them the idea is to continue with the golf day idea on an annual basis and perhaps introduce other events.
"People always read and hear about assaults and DUI cases that stem from people being at the pub or at a club so we wanted to do something that puts back into the community," Kelly said.
"We already do a lot through the sponsorship of different things, especially sporting clubs, and most weeks there is some kind of fundraising event held across Dubbo that the pubs and clubs support.
"We haven't quite worked out which charities will get amounts out of the golf day, that will depend on how much we end up with and how many ways we decide to split the money.
"The idea now is that we can hopefully have a golf day every year and make it grow, and we're also looking at putting together a fundraising committee within the accord and perhaps having a bowls day in six months time.
"If we were able to do that, then every six months or so we would be able to make some donations to help some causes within the community."
