The November trophy was previously sponsored by Radio 2DU and the Ducks are very appreciative of their support and thank them for their very long association with the club.
A big thank you to the Schloeffel family for their generosity in taking over the sponsorship.
The trophy winner is the swimmer who swims closest to their times in the heats of the 25 metre freestyle.
There were six swimmers who came very close but Jo Ross (-0.17) just pipped John McLean (-0.19) and Nichole Johnstone (0.21) to take the win.
The pace in the final of the 25 metres freestyle was somewhat slower with Tom Gray (1.14) taking the win from Nichole Johnstone (1.20) with Margaret Ross (1.59) third, Bryana Saffy (1.69) fourth and John McLean (2.53) fifth.
McLean picked up the pace when he teamed with Ron Everett in the final of the backstroke/freestyle brace relay, and beat the opposition of Andrew Schloeffel and Judy Walsh, Bryana Saffy and Roger Mackay, John Wherritt and Nichole Johnstone, and Tom Gray and Marg Ross in a close finish.
Matt Dover returned to the pool in fine form after a few weeks absence when he won the final of the 50 metres freestyle, however he went just a little too fast and broke his time.
This gave the win to Greg Jankowski , who has been swimming very consistently, from Mark Bonser, Craig Schloeffel and Marg Ross. Well done to Marg Ross who made all the finals on the morning.
Lucky numbers for the morning went to Roger Mackay, John Wherritt, Garry Giddings and Andrew Schloeffel.
This Sunday the Ducks will be contesting the Col Eastburn "Boom Boom" brace relay.
Col was a stalwart and life member of the Ducks for many years and members are encourage to support this event.
The Ducks swim each Sunday at the Dubbo RSL Aquatic and Health at 9am and everyone is welcome to come and join in the exercise and fun.
