In other Sports World news, the Steve Skinner-led Blades team were victors in the Mac Inn A-grade Spring mini-series conducted last week.
Needing to win both mini games contested on the night Steve's team posted a competitive 77 runs for the Mat Skinner-led Mac Inn Magic team to chase, and chase it they almost did, falling just seven runs short are losing a wicket in the final over. In the second game it was Mac Inn's turn to bat first and they posted a 64-run score for the Blades to chase, a target the consistent Blades outfit managed to get to with two balls remaining in the match.
Blades' Adali Shipp, Steve Skinner, Ross Horrocks and Dale O'Donell were all not out and that was definitely a catalyst for the victory while Mac Inn's three big guns, Mat Skinner, Aidan Bennewith and Dan Horrocks kept the game within reach.
New competitions are starting at the stadium with co-ordinator Dan French seeking one eight-a-side team and one six-a-side to fill the grades. Teams or interested players can also contact the Stadium on 68840123.
