More staff, more cars and much better resources mean you have a better change at being nabbed by police if you are doing something wrong.
This is evident in the latest figures which show Orana drivers are on track to pay more than $1 million in speeding fines after being caught in record numbers during the first two months of this financial year.
Fines have already surpassed the number given in the same period during the 2010 - 2011 financial year, with the amount paid back to the government doubling for the 2013-2014 year.
It's a message we have heard time and time again during police operations.
Do something wrong on our roads and you will get caught.
A higher police presence on the roads and more resourced for the Highway Patrol division mean country roads are much safer to drive on.
And if you are thinking the Highway Patrol teams will move on, you are wrong.
Western Region Traffic and Highway Patrol's Jeff Boon has said drivers shouldn't expect any let up on what they are seeing on the roads right now. Police are out there, they know the hot spots, they know where to look. Watch out. If you speed, they will catch you and you will be fined.
Do you really want to spend your hard earned money on a fine?
