The 34 riders on 26 bikes had travelled from Mudgee to Dubbo via Lightning Ridge, doing about 12,000 kilometres over six days for The Late Mail Postie Bike Ride.
Co-organiser of the event John Gorman said the ride raised more than $55,000 for Little Wings, far surpassing the initial $30,000 goal.
The trip included three flat tyres and a couple of broken engines but Mr Gorman said overall it went really well and everyone bonded.
The idea for a postie bike ride was developed between Mr Gorman and Jason Turner over a couple of beers.
Mr Gorman had participated in the Royal Flying Doctor's rally, and the pair decided to do something similar for Little Wings.
Little Wings is a not-for-profit organisation that provides free flights to The Sydney Children's Hospital for regional and rural children in NSW.
It was the first Little Wings postie bike ride, but Mr Gorman said he was already thinking of making in a frequent event, depending on the feedback from the riders.
