A darts competition was organised by Julie Freeman at Macquarie Alarm Services to fundraise for Bear Cottage after they helped a Dubbo family.
Ms Freeman said the organisation knew they wanted to hold a fundraiser and after throwing some ideas around, decided a darts challenge would be a fun way to raise money
The competition and the 300 tickets sold in the raffle, which was comprised of items donated from local businesses, raised $1428.
The winning trophy was taken out by Lennie Bateup and Carl McKay.
"They were the favourites. They nearly were beat but they came back," Ms Freeman said.
Eight teams played in the darts and Ms Freeman said many more people came by the Castlereagh to support the cause.
Ms Freeman said she was thankful for the event's sponsors.
"It's amazing the generosity of the businesses in Dubbo," she said.
