Service manager Peter English said more than 300 volunteers are a part of the communities organisation.
"We really rely heavily on volunteers. Without them we would not be able to deliver the meals," Mr English said.
In the last financial year, Dubbo Meals on Wheels delivered 33,000 meals to clients in Dubbo, more than 22,000 were hot meals and approximately 10,000 were frozen meals.
Earlier this year on Wednesday, August 27, marked the 61st year of Meals on Wheels operating in Australia.
Meals on Wheels offer much more than a nutritious meal, but also provide a daily visit to monitor the health and well being of the clients who may not see anyone else during the day.
"It's nice to know someone is looking out for the elderly," Mr English said.
"Volunteers can be the only interaction our clients have with the community.
"Clients that we target are over 65 years, or have a disability. Some are very isolated. Meals on Wheels offers a hot or frozen meal daily or weekly, so that they can remain in the home environment."
Many regular volunteers go away during the Christmas holidays.
Mr English said it would be great to see new and younger volunteers during this season.
"Unfortunately there is an aging population of volunteers," he said.
"It would be great to see a renewal from the younger generation to keep the fire going."
