For the last few days a range of activities have taken place which have raised the awareness of disability
Year 12 student Cody Jones is the Student Representative Council member for the student support unit and he said their biggest concern had been about how they fit in with the rest of the students.
Cody suffers from a disease where his muscles weaken over time and makes movement difficult.
He started planning a campaign, along with the help of a team of disability week co-ordinators, including Zohe Hughes, Alison Watterson, Jake Whitney, Katrina Sharp and Ally Honeyman.

They have been overwhelmed by the success of it.
"The guys came to me and said they wanted to be more involved. We had kids from the support group racing alongside everyone and helping out with the organisation," Cody said.
"It's been one of the highlights of the year and has really helped with self esteem and confidence, I think it has really lifted school spirits."
The activities have been held during lunch times, starting with a three legged race on Monday, Egg and Spoon race on Tuesday, Barbeque on Wednesday and a handball competition yesterday.
Today will involve a special surprise activity.
"These are activities that everyone can get involved in and the turnout has been great. The barbeque was a big success and we had about 200 students and staff come out to watch the egg and spoon races," Cody said.
Fundraising is also taking places and money raised from the week will be split between Northcote and the school's support unit.
Senior College teacher and SRC coordinator Mark Dann said the event had been a huge success.
"We've been delighted with the spirit of the students, staff and wider community as well as the generosity. Congratulations to everyone who has been involved, especially Cody, who has been a driving force.
The students wish to thank the generous support of businesses including Hogs Breath Cafe, Farmers Choice Butchery and Lolly's Bliss Soy Candles.
