The Raiders ran in nine tries to five as their opponents for next weekend's qualifying final, the Wellington Cowboys, watched on from the junior league clubhouse.
With three straight wins under their belt, coach Steve McLellan said the mood within the club is positive heading into the biggest month of the season.
"It's a good time of year to be in some good form, and I thought we played pretty well today against a good side," McLellan said.
"Our discipline was a lot better today than it has been, and we enjoyed more time with the ball as a result.
"The end result of that was that we were able to get ourselves into good field position and score some good tries."
Macquarie started the game in the perfect fashion, with Mason Williams finishing a long-range attack to open the scoring after just 50 seconds.
Parkes hit back with tries to Tino Ionatana and Alex Prout to take a four-point lead before Macquarie scored the final three tries of a stop-start first half punctuated by nine penalties.
Etuate Gusuivalu, deputising at halfback for the injured Josh Merritt, scored the final try of the half as Macquarie took a 22-10 lead into the break.
Whatever captain-coach Pat Rosser said to his troops in the shed must have worked as Parkes started the second stanza in impressive fashion, scoring twice through Ionatana and Jake Dooley to cut the margin to four with 27 minutes remaining.
But tries to Viliame Cagibula, Lasaro Turagadrau and Kyle Cochrane settled the ship for Macquarie as they pushed out to a 38-18 lead after 67 minutes.
Parkes kept their hopes alive through a try to Evi Neyoko but two tries in the final four minutes to Dylan Hill and Ash Conn again saw Macquarie kick clear and secure the win.
"We were in the game for patches but that's not good enough to beat the better teams," Rosser said.
"The momentum of the game swapped around a bit but we just made too many simple errors at times that let Macquarie off the hook.
"To their credit they were good enough to capitalise on those mistakes. We have a few things to work on this week but the competition starts all over again now.
"We have to learn from those mistakes but we can't dwell on them. If we play like that again next week we'll be out but if we can be a bit more consistent throughout those key parts of the match then we'll give ourselves a chance."
