An expanding collection of teddy bears represents a Dubbo family's commitment to beating a disease that took a loved one.

Dubbo resident Leah Isenbert called on community members to join her in supporting this year's Cancer Council Daffodil Day to show they care about defeating cancer.

Ms Isenbert will have pins, merchandise and the fresh yellow blooms ready for sale at a stall at Dubbo Square on Friday, one of four in the city.

It's the fifth year the Cancer Council NSW volunteer and her family have given their time on the fundraising day and it's in memory of a much-loved matriarch.

"The first year we became involved, Daffodil Day fell on my mother-in-law's birthday and the previous year she had died of brain cancer," Ms Isenbert said.

The experienced team leader showed the Daily Liberal the merchandise available - including the sporty-looking Dougal bear.

"Every year there is a new style of teddy," Ms Isenbert said.

She also reported their stall would have "more daffodils than ever before" and pens, key rings, lapel pins and footballs.

Justin Cantelo from Cancer Council's Orange office praised Ms Isenbert and other team leaders in the western region for their efforts.

"Team leaders help raise funds that provide vital cancer research, prevention programs and support services that directly benefit people across our region," he said.

The four Daffodil Day stalls at Dubbo can be found at the Post Office in Talbragar Street, Bunnings Warehouse, Orana Mall and Dubbo Square.
