As a part of the school holidays program, Joel ran a six hour masterclass workshop with the rising talent of Dubbo.
Western Plains Cultural Centre education officer Lisa Minner said she was extremely pleased with how smoothly the day ran.
"We had 11 boys and three girls in total," Ms Minner said.
"This is the first time we've branched out and included hip-hop in our cultural program.
"It's clearly been a successful gamble."
Ms Minner said it was wonderful to catch the attention of young teenage boys to the WPCC, something they had struggled to do in the past.
"Joel's been great with the kids too," she said.
Joel said he had a wonderful experience coaching the aspiring artists in lyric writing and performance techniques.
"I'm a music teacher by trade, so rhythm and beat plays a huge part in my life."
"To give these kids a chance to collaborate and record their own work is fantastic," he said.
Joel said he enjoys coaching the independent clinics around the state.
"This isn't my first time to Dubbo and it hopefully won't be my last," he said.
