DUBBO airport is one of the most punctual in Australia when it comes to departures, according to on-time figures released this week.

The figures for May released by the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development ranked Dubbo airport equal fifth in the nation, with 92.4 per cent of flights departing on time.
The airports that had the biggest percentage of flights depart on time were Port Lincoln, SA (95 per cent), Ayers Rock, NT (93.9), Newman, WA (92.5) and Kalgoorlie, WA (92.4).
Dubbo airport did not figure in the top-10 list of airports for on-time arrivals.
Propserpine airport in Queensland topped that list, with 97.5 per cent of its arrivals on time, followed by Kalgoorlie, WA (93.2), Moranbah, QLD (92.9) Gladstone, QLD (92.5) and Mount Isa, QLD (92.4).
But when it came to the performance of individual airlines, Regional Express (Rex) outstripped QantasLink for on-time departures and arrivals on both the Dubbo to Sydney and Sydney to Dubbo routes.
For the Dubbo to Sydney route, 96.3 per cent of Rex flights departed on time, compared with 87.4 per cent of QantasLink flights. For arrivals, 94.4 per cent of Rex flights were on time compared with 86.6 per cent of QantasLink flights.
Neither airline recorded a cancellation on the route.
For the Sydney to Dubbo route, 91.7 per cent of the Rex flights departed on time, compared with 88.1 per cent of QantasLink flights.
Where arrivals were concerned, 95.5 per cent of Rex flights were on time, compared with 81 per cent of QantasLink flights.
No cancellations were recorded on that route either.
The individual route with the best on-time departure performance was Sydney to Ayers Rock (98 per cent), while the Brisbane to Proserpine route performed the best for arrivals, of which 97.5 per cent were on time.
