The event has been made all the more special in recent years since the completion of the magnificent Dubbo Regional Theatre, which gives young singers, dancers, instrumentalists and orators the chance to perform on stage at a high-quality venue that has played host to numerous national and international acts.
What has clearly remained constant however is the level of commitment and hard work shown by the performers, organisers involved in the annual event.
The Dubbo Eisteddfod is not about who wins but about every young person doing his or her best and showcasing their talents, many and varied.
Indeed, the benefits of performing in eisteddfods extend far beyond the prizes.
Developing confidence, a sense of teamwork and discipline are all qualities that extend beyond the stage and will equip our youngsters well into the future.
And as one adjudicator told the Daily Liberal, he did not remember where he himself placed in the Dubbo Eisteddfod 22 years ago, but he certainly could tell you about the friends he made there.
To all the performers and their dedicated organisers, instructors and families, including the parents who spend countless hours putting together costumes or lending their ears for rehearsals, congratulations for going above and beyond to make this wonderful event all that it is.
