Mr Bills said Sunday night around 5.30pm and Monday around lunchtime, his private property on Macleay Street was invaded, by what he believes to be neighbouring youths.
The 72 year-old discovered wooden pails had been pulled off his back fence while lemons, mandarins, limes and tomatoes from both his and his neighbours property had been thrown on the roof and throughout the yard.
Pegs and electrical supplies had also been knocked over, and Mr Bills’ garden shed broken into.
Mr Bills said he is frustrated with the level of crime in the area, which has become “normal” and the inadequacy of the authorities to prevent it.
“We would like this to stop in the North Dubbo area. We’d like something to be done,” he said.
He said he had a very sick daughter to care for and he shouldn’t have to return home to see his backyard destroyed.
Mr Bills is hoping other residents in the area come forward to stand up to the increasing amounts of crime by people under the influence of illegal drugs and alcohol.
It’s not the first time Mr Bills has been the victim of crime at his home. He was admitted to hospital six months ago following an attack by six youth which left him with fractured ribs, a collapsed lung and 12 missing teeth.
The police were contacted but were unavailable for comment.
