Mutamann was a late scratching at Narromine two weeks ago after refusing to be loaded into the barrier stalls, with stewards ordering that the Mutawaajid x Naseej gelding would have to barrier trial to their satisfaction before being allowed back to the races.
The youngster passed that task with flying colours at Dubbo on Wednesday, when he romped home by three lengths in a trial after the last race.
Mutamann will give away age and experience to most of his rivals tomorrow, but showed enough in the trial to suggest that he can be competitive against a weak field over the short-course trip.
Dubbo jockey Jeff Kehoe, who rode the gelding on Wednesday, will be in the saddle tomorrow with Mutamann drawing barrier eight in the 12-horse field.
Later in the day, home track trainer George Wright will be hopeful his gelding I'm A Snip can continue his recent run of consistent form when he lines up in a Class 1 Handicap (1000m).
The four-year-old has recorded a win and two minor placings at three runs back from a spell, and will have the services of leading rider Kody Nestor when he lines up tomorrow.
But to offset those positives, he has drawn barrier 14 in the field of 12 plus four emergencies.
If the emergencies come out, I'm A Snip will start from barrier 10.
