Wanderers thrash Guizhou Renhe 5-0

For the first time, Sydney will have a representative in the knock-out stages of the Asian Champions League after Western Sydney Wanderers progressed to the round of 16 by thrashing a hapless Guizhou Renhe with their equal record winning margin. The Wanderers only had to draw to seal their passage out of the group but when the team sheet revealed the Chinese club brought just 14 mostly back-up players for the final group match, a comprehensive victory for the hosts looked like the only outcome.
