Macquarie Street's beautification was a hot topic in April 1991. Council re-opened the street and introduced nose-in parking. It wasn't welcomed by residents.
Council were also defending their decision to purchase pavers from a Bulli company for use along Macquarie Street.
Also in April we remember the pilot who was killed after his plane crashed into another in a mid-air collision over Mudgee and there was a showdown at the local Chamber of Commerce AGM with members denied the right to vote based on a technicality.
What are your memories of the month?
