The day featured games between The Forbes Magpies and Bathurst St Pat's, the two sides Collits played for before his tragic passing.
Mr Grogan was thrilled with the day's events.
“For the day we probably got close to 1000 people,” he said.
“I didn’t expect that many, even the junior league was packed.
“It was a huge turnout.”
The memorial games were followed by a presentation and the official opening of the Brendon ‘Stubby’ Collits gym.
Over $2,000 was raised on the day for charity Can Assist, while on the field former NRL player Josh Miller ran water to the first grade teams during their match.
There must have been something in the bottles, as the Magpies managed to beat Bathurst’s St Pat’s in both the junior and senior fixtures.
In the under 18s the Magpies ran out convincing 20-10 winners.
The main match also saw a Forbes win, this time by the margin of 24-18.
All in all, Mr Grogan said it was a memorable day that celebrated Collits' life.
“It was a great day,” he said.
“It was more of a celebration, there were some sad parts, but it was just a celebration of who Brendon was.”
The Brendon ‘Stubby’ Collits gym is now functional and ready to be used.
