Dubbo Local Court heard Tayla Jane Arnaudon was found sitting in a gutter crying when police were called to Reakes Avenue at 4.30am.
A Subaru Impreza had collided with a street sign. The sign had toppled over and was lying on the ground.
Arnaudon pleaded guilty to a charge of high-range drink-driving when she faced Magistrate Andrew Eckhold on Wednesday.
Police said Arnaudon got behind the wheel of her grandfather's car after drinking at the Amaroo Hotel.
She travelled south along Brisbane Street and lost control at the intersection of Reakes Avenue.
A Legal Aid solicitor said Arnaudon had not intended to drive after drinking.
"Her mother usually takes her home," the solicitor said.
Magistrate Eckhold said Arnaudon had led a blameless life prior to the offence.
Arnaudon was convicted and fined $800. She was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
