Know Your Rights centres on a series of easy-to-read online guides to common legal challenges, such as making a will, problems with neighbours and separation from a partner.
President of the Law Society of NSW, Ros Everett, said reliable online legal information can be hard to find.
"Know Your Rights aims to deal with the growing problem of poor online information," he said.
"Most people now use the internet as their first port of call when they have a problem. However in the modern climate of do it yourself, simply relying on the internet when dealing with a complex legal issue can cause major problems. Each guide explains the key legal issues associated with a particular problem in a way that people can understand. At launch there are 12 guides, however more will be launched during the year.
