THE Macquarie Inn will be the place to be in Dubbo this Australia Day weekend when it hosts a smorgasbord of events for all sections of the community including families and children.

One of the highlights will be the Tooheys/XXXX cabana bar which will be open from 1pm to 9pm on Saturday and Sunday.
You can chill out with the XXXXperts team and go into the draw to win a trip to XXXX island and other great merchandise giveaways.
There will be the local finals of the Maxim swimsuit model search starting from 5pm through to 7.30pm.
This will be the region's only modelling contest which you will see some of the best girls from the Central West aiming to represent Dubbo in finals to be held on the Gold Coast.
There is a freshly laid kikuyu turf for car park cricket which kicks off from 2pm to 6pm.
This will be run in the first car parking bay on the eastern side of the venue.
The area is totally enclosed by fencing and freshly laid turf.
Sumo suit races start from 12pm to 2pm.
This is first ever time in Dubbo, jump in a suit and see how fast you can go.
There will also be a pie eating contest which starts at the stage in the public bar running 2pm to 5pm and the audience will see who will be crowned Macquarie Inn 2014 champion.
Another highlight at the cabana bar will be Esky scooter racing From 12pm to 3pm.
This event was the highlight for the 2013 celebrations.
Live entertainment will kicks off from 6pm running through 9.30pm with Peoples Palace and the support band will be the Crawford Brothers from Newcastle.
The band is to start approximately 5pm and will conclude at 9pm.
There will be free self-serve water available from the cooler situated at the saloon (sports) bar and bottles of water available from front gate and all bars for $1.
There will be a "gold coin" donation required for a sausage sizzle being conducted in the beer garden area by the Macquarie Inn with bistro to be open from 12pm to 9pm.
Pies will be available to pie eating contest if there is any left of Australia's best pies.
There's plenty for the children as well with Kids Play Day to be held on the front car park, where the turf will be laid for car park cricket.
Along with music to entertain kids there will be Pookie the clown will be the master of ceremonies for day and who will also perform a children's magic show and balloon making.
There will be two jumping castles, water slides, waxhands (which is new to Dubbo), face painting, Dippin Dots ice cream, a sumo suits kid's race, cooked egg and spoon racing and water balloon games.
There will be a photographer taking all the funny photos, so dress up for the day.
