THERE will be something for everyone at Dubbo City Council's Australia Day Celebrations in Victoria Park on Sunday 26 January 2014.

For the early birds the celebrations will start at 7.30am with a barbecue breakfast of sausages, bacon and eggs and fruit cooked and served by the Dubbo Macquarie Rotary Club with coffee available for purchase.
The Dubbo and District Concert Band will be playing for the crowd prior to the official proceedings which commence at 8.30am.
This year Ms Billie Palin, a young Dubbo soprano singer will be singing the National Anthem and the mayor, Cr Mathew Dickerson and Dubbo's Australia Day Ambassador fashion designer Charlie Brown will raise the Australian flag.
The official ceremony will continue with the mayor giving his Australia Day address followed by a Citizenship Ceremony where 14 people will become Australians and them ambassador Charlie Brown will deliver the Australia Day Ambassador's address.
The coveted Australia Day award winners will also be announced in four categories, Young Sportsperson of the Year, Sportsperson of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Citizen of the Year.
Of course there will be a customary cutting of the Australia Day Cake and sharing of cake or lamingtons among the audience and council will also be giving away free water bottles that will be kept on ice to help cool you down and keep you hydrated.
Also this year a range of displays and activities will be available for families to enjoy throughout the morning.
The local State Emergency Service, Dubbo Rescue Squad and Fire and Rescue NSW will be on display and Taronga Western Plains Zoo will have their mobile animal encounter van on site with a few visitors from the zoo for the crowd to enjoy.
Activities for the children will include a jumping castle and face painting, temporary tattoos, Pooka the clown and activity bags, with free stickers and balloons.
So don't forget to pack your sunscreen and a hat and please come along to celebrate Australia's national day.
