Cobra Street McDonald's manager Jackie Hunt praised residents for their generosity and care towards this year's McHappy Day fundraiser.
Ms Hunt said she was extremely pleased with the Saturday result and was still counting the money.
"Considering the bushfires and tough times with big bills I think it is a really good effort," she said.
"It is amazing to see the community come out and really help out."
From every Big Mac sold $2 went to the Ronald McDonald House Charities to build new Ronald McDonald Houses, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, Ronald McDonald Family Retreats and providing more resources for the Ronald McDonald Learning Program.
The 14 houses currently provide more than 85,000 families with a home-away-from-home while their child was treated for a serious illness at a nearby hospital.
Dubbo Volunteer Rescue Squad and the Dubbo Scouts were out and about selling raffle tickets and handing lucky bags to donors.
Ms Hunt said the outpour of giving was due to the cause being a children's charity.
"You just don't know when you will use the facilities of the Ronald McDonald House," she said.
"It really is a home away from home. Families can use the house without having the burden of paying for accommodation or food."
