Amaroo Hotel put out five tin cans at four of their bars yesterday and will ask for a gold coin donation for entry to their night club over the next two weeks with all proceeds going to the Australian Red Cross.
Amaroo Hotel's owner and manager Michael Kemptson said putting out the tins is just something small they can do, which will go a long way to help the firies and people who have been devastaded by the bushfires.
"Some people have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars so this is just something we can do for nothing over the next couple of weeks," Mr Kempston said.
"We hope to probably raise a few thousand dollars.
"If every pub in Dubbo did this for the next two weeks then we could raise a lot to donate to the Australian Red Cross and help.
"It's a no brainer," Mr Kempston said.
