A resident of Fitzroy Street who heard the footballers leave the tavern said household goods along the street, that had left for the Dubbo City Council's bulk clean up, was thrown onto the street to impede traffic, glass was broken and items were thrown at the passing cars.
The Raiders under-18s team had lost in a grand final to cross-town rivals CYMS 44-18 and the match had been marred by two send-offs from each team.
The match report in yesterday's edition of the Daily Liberal said frustrations boiled over for the Raiders and the game was finished with 11 players on each side.
Club president Gavin Board said the club was taking the reports of the violence and bad behaviour seriously and was carrying out a full investigation hand-in-hand with Dubbo police.
"We've heard various reports so far and we're still trying to get to the bottom of the matter," he told the Daily Liberal.
"We have nothing to say at this stage, other than when we find out who it was they will be dealt with very severely," he said.
Mr Board said he'd heard the players were going to an after-party in Hutchins Ave.
"We're trying to work it all out.
"We're working with police and doing all we can to help them," he said.
The Fitzroy Street resident said Dubbo City Council staff were in the street early yesterday morning picking up all of the roadside bulk rubbish.
The resident called for a full investigation of the rampage.
"These players have to be held accountable for their actions," she said.
"They were blocking cars and throwing whatever they could," the lady, who did not wish to be identified, said.
"The club won't want the bad publicity and they should hold those players accountable too."
The Daily Liberal sought comment from the Dubbo Police but did not receive a return phone call before going to press.
