After taking Newcastle by storm earlier in the month where they played against the home team, as well as Coffs Harbour and mid North Coast, the Dubbo boys are looking strong for the fourth and final round of the Super League series before the upcoming finals in Thornton on August 17.
Dubbo is in the top three in all four grades and wins at home may just see them climb up the ladder to second position in the regional competition.
In the Men's Ones, the line-up consists of Steve and Matt Skinner, Jordan Peacock, Matt Fisher, Dan French, Dan Horrocks, Wade Burrowes and Dan Holland.
Burrowes is stepping in for Ben Patterson while French has recently returned from representative honours in the under-20s national tournament.
Steve Skinner and his teammates were strong at Newcastle and should be pumped for action against their Novacastian rivals.
The Men's Twos team results will hinge heavily on the form of players such as Matt Woodbridge, Justin Knudsen (another player who toured with French to the under-20s nationals), Dale O'Donnell, Jacob Hill, Tim Beckenham, Jarrod Toole and Al Horrocks.
In the Men's Threes, Mat Knudsen, Eric Woolnough, Josh Wright, Adam Cuskelly, Steve McDowell, Andrew Walden, Jackson Peacock and Brayden McGhee will all don their Stars shirts in anticipation, however their Charlestown opponents are the season's hotpots and have been for the past three years so they know their performance this weekend will go a long way in determining whether or not they are up to this standard.
McGhee and Knudsen starred last time the boys played at home in round two.
The Masters squad, who will have to play three games on the day will comprise of Alwyn Edwards, Al Horrocks, Rob Green, Kel Blackett, Brian McKinnon, Craig Pettit, Andrew Walden, Matt Knudsen, Tim Beckenham, Darren Davies, Steve McDowell and Dave Glasson.
While this team looks to have Hunter covered for a finals berth these boys really need a couple of wins this weekend to cement their place in the top three for the finals.
They all played well in round two, with Blackett and Pettit turning in star performances for Dubbo.
Meanwhile, in local competitions the B-grade Jackpot Cricket preliminary finals were played last Thursday with the Tropical Thunders proving to be far too strong for the Fireants in Division 1, scoring 133 to 96.
Bill Helengers was a top player for the Thunders, taking five wickets, while Narender Sandhu scored 24 runs.
For the Fireants, Scott Tucker scored an impressive 37 runs, while Alex Newtown was the top bowler with three wickets.
In Division 2, The E Team brought home the bacon over Slappers, winning 85 to 54 in a hard-fought encounter.
Adam Cuskelly proved his worth for The E Team, putting 21 runs on the board and taking five wickets.
Jake Prescott played well for Slappers, making 15 runs and also taking five wickets.
The charity match in support of Dubbo Basketball's Pink Lady day on Saturday was won by Western Stars, who defeated RSL-Colts 110 to 53.
Wade Burrowes of the Western Stars was the highest net-run contributor on the day.
This match was an exhibition game between Dubbo's indoor rep team and the current Whitney Cup holders, RSL-Colts.
The day also included netball and basketball matches.
