Dubbo's premier multi-sports stadium will host a new darts competition, to begin on Thursday, July 11.
Sportsworld proprietor Greg King said individual nominations will be accepted today, with games set to start the following week.
"We will start with a sign-up evening which will be followed by the first night of competition," he said.
Playing darts is a completely new game for the sporting complex utilised by many Dubbo residents.
"It's the first time we've done this," Greg said.
"But it will be open to players of any age, with young people welcome."
Multiple games will be played on each night of the five-week competition with a prize money pool up for grabs at the end.
"The prize money will be determined by the number of players," Greg explained.
Darts is traditionally played in pubs or taverns although competitions have been held in beer gardens and similar outdoor areas.
Its origins stem back as far as the 15th century.
