“Gerry joined the National Party in 1949 and distinguished himself through his long and dedicated service to the people of Dubbo and the National Party,” Mr O’Farrell said.
“As the member for Dubbo between 1981 and 1999, Gerry always stood up for his local community and made sure they got the infrastructure and services they deserved.
“He also delivered for his community as mayor and councillor on Dubbo City Council.
“I was saddened to learn of Gerry’s passing and I send my condolences to his family and friends.
“Gerry was one of the true gentlemen of NSW politics - admired by MPs on both sides of the house.”
