About 10.4mm of rain fell but it wasn't enough for a local agronomist who said more was desperately needed in order to save the dying crops.
Agronomist Kathi Hurtel said, although she didn't know how heavy the rainfall was over the weekend, she knew it wasn't enough.

"Our domestic water supply is pretty low and 10.4mm is sadly not enough," she said.
"The crops are looking pretty grim at the moment and the water supply needs to rise in order to get ready for the winter crop season."
She said she was hoping for more wet weather in the Autumn months but it all depended on how the rain fell.
"Over 10mm of rain will just generate a lot of weeds and that's it. The rain on the weekend was a non-event but as it's forecasted to rain every day until Thursday, we should have a better idea at the end of the week," she said.
Today will have a top of 33 degrees with a shower or two developing and 28 degrees for the next three days with possible showers predicted.
The rainfall is expected to clear by Saturday in time for Autumn to begin.
