James Fraser did not apply for bail as he sat impassively in the dock, flanked by corrective services officers.
The court heard Fraser had been in contact with Lyndon House drug and alcohol centre.
His solicitor asked for a two-week adjournment to follow up on rehabilitation possibilities.
Magistrate Andrew Eckhold revoked the bond previously imposed by the court and asked for an intensive corrections report.
The report will assess Fraser's suitability for an intensive corrections order. The orders are served in the community under strict supervision rather than in full-time custody.
Offenders subject to intensive correction orders are required to complete a minimum of 32 hours of community service work per month, undergo drug testing, participate in programs addressing offending behaviour and accept supervision from Corrective Services NSW.
Conditions may also require an offender to be subject to electronic monitoring, random unannounced home visits and a curfew.
Fraser will reappear in court on Monday.
