Karloo Mick is out of the 2013 Inter Dominion series after an application for a stay of proceedings by the gelding’s trainer Barry Lew was refused late yesterday.
On Monday Lew was slapped with a 12-month disqualification as a result of a positive swab to norketamine returned by his stable star after a win at Menangle last October.
Lew has appealed the disqualification, however his application for a stay, which would have allowed the 12-year-old to line up, was denied after objections from Harness Racing NSW integrity officer Reid Sanders.
The decision means the top pacer will likely be retired.
