But in a week where some Sydney CBD licence freezes on capacity and opening hours are being controversially lifted, there are no concerns from organisers here about the risk of alcohol-related violence.
The Amaroo Hotel's nightclub launches tomorrow night after "a fair while" in the making, licensee Michael Kempston said.
With a capacity of about 1000, Mr Kempston said he liaised numerous times with police to ensure patrons' safety.
"They're happy that we're making it safe for everyone, we've put on extra security and we have a plan in place to prevent that (violence)," he said.
Opening from 9pm to 5am, Mr Kempston said there was no change to their previous trading hours.
The large extension of its lower floor to create the nightclub is part of the estimated $1.5 million renovations across the Amaroo Hotel.
The nightclub has two bars, a large dancefloor and smoking garden as well as VIP booths partyers can book in advance.
As well as catering to the young adult crowd, there is hope events for both underage and an older demographic will become regular.
"We think this will be a pretty important place for Dubbo," Mr Kempston said.
"We've already got an underage show coming up as well, it's something to do for the kids."
Mr Kempston and promotional manager Rod Leonard agreed the investment in Dubbo was significant.
"We will have 40 people on the weekend employed," Mr Kempston said.
"This has been a long time coming, it's the biggest thing I've seen in a while," Mr Leonard said.
Friday and Saturday nights will be their initial focus, with Bombs Away, the UK's Luciana and Justice Crew appearing as headline acts in its opening month.
Mr Leonard said the experience was about having a good time. "It's good for Dubbo to get introduced to DJs and for them to see there's something here," he said.
