And the Blues Brothers are off to Sydney on the weekend after a nail-biting 2-1 win in their game against Millthorpe at West Dubbo.
Warren Towney proved to be a master of suspense in the Singles game leading 17-1 after 10 ends only to see that whittled away to 26-25 after 20 ends.
He then lifted when it mattered and won 31-28.
Henry Briggs and Steve Ryan in the Pairs were building heads more beautiful than Marilyn Monroe only to see them shattered by a few fortuitous bowls and went down by three shots.
Coady's Riders - Silk, McMullen, Cross, Coady - upset Millthorpe's undefeated Fours with a one-shot win. The Millthorpe skip had the last bowl of the match and could've completely reversed the result if he'd have picked up the jack.
Fortunately for Railway the bowl went wide and all the rest is history.
The Mixed team unfortunately went down 2-1 to Penrith on a rain-sodden green at Springwood. As they say, both sides had to play on the same green with Penrith adapting better to the conditions.
The Mixed side performed well throughout the competition and should be happy with their achievements.
Railway's Club Challenge kicks off this Friday at 5.30pm with Farrell's Falcons up against McKenzie's Mongrels and Marksell's Marauders looking to dominate Porter's Pirates.
Round two will be played on Saturday at 1pm and round three on Sunday at 9.30am. Don't be fooled by the team names; this is serious stuff. Each side will be out there to assert superiority and bragging rights.
Needless to say there will be no social bowls on the weekend.
Thursday social results: first Judy Jackson, Ray Smith, Mark Slow; second Liz Buck, Al Buck; third Kaleb, Martin, Barry Fernando; fourth Cheryl Storch, Dick Davis, Bobby Storch; fifth Mick Petrie, Mark Rodder, Michael Rea.
Saturday: first George Mason, John Vogt; second Ray Smith, Barry Fernando; third Adam Cochrane, Terry McKenzie.
Sunday: first Bruce Briggs, Ian Moses, Rob Adams; second Dave Forkin, Brian Clarke, Barry Fernando; third Al Buck, John Schreiber; fourth Ken Weber, Ted Mortimer, John Agnew.
Came across Jono Davis having a roll up at the club through the week. Jono has been away every second weekend on rep duties throughout the State.
Next weekend he will be representing Country Juniors against City. Good luck Little Master, hope you do well.
