A further round of the mixed fours championship will be played on Saturday when Sophie and Alex Rae and Annette and John McMillan play Laurace and Warwick Lawson and Robyn and Doug Glass.
Play is progressing in the KC Print point score competition with many close matches and little between a number of teams.
The Business House Twilight Competition is again very popular with 240 bowlers and learners taking to the greens last week.

Melbourne Cup Day bowls have again been arranged with play to start at 10am, have a break for lunch and then continue until 30 minutes before the race.
Various competitions, sweeps, etc, will be conducted.
Advance notice is given for entries for the President’s Pairs which will start on Saturday November 17 and continue on Sunday November 18, morning and afternoon.
The annual Diggers Day will be held this Sunday with play to start at 10am.
There are still a couple of rinks available so intending players are urged to get their entries in as soon as possible.

CITY WOMEN
Brilliant bowling by Annette McMillan put her through to the final of the State singles play-offs against Karen Murphy on Saturday at St Johns Park Bowling Club.
Hoewever, McMillan was beaten by Murphy 31-20.
Sofia Rae, Laurace Lawson, Heather Nalder and Annette McMillan travel to Warilla on Sunday for the State final of the Wolinski Shield.
Dina Moore won the club minor singles final against Joy Brown last Saturday.

Keeley McGuire is only 11 years old and this was her first game in women’s competition and the way shehandled the game was outstanding.

There was a great cards afternoon on Monday; lucky door prize went to Thelma Diggs and our raffle went to Noelene Humphreys.
MACQUARIE WOMEN/MIXED
‘Rock and Roll’ twilight bowls proved to be very popular last Tuesday.
As it was much warmer than the previous week everyone was able to concentrate on their bowls more, rather than just trying to keep warm.
Those playing are advised forget to ring the club and put their name in before 6pm, the sausage sizzle will start at 6.30pm and bowls shortly after.
Visitors are welcome and will be assured of a fun night.
Women’s bowls last Wednesday featured another round of the club consistency.
Majors: Pearl Vaughn def Kath Corke; lona Miller def Sandra Sunderland and Sheila Henderson def Pat Austin.
As expected the competition was very strong in all games.
Minor consistency: Barbara Barrett def Lois Adams and Barbara Reynolds def Lois Adams, these matches were also hotly contested and our congratulations go to the eventual winners.
Sunday mixed bowls were highlighted by the mixed pairs championship final.
Colleen Medley and David Barclay proved too strong for Phillipa and Jock Frazier, but the Fraziers put up a very strong fight against a very experienced pairing who have won the competition a number of times.
The women’s major consistency semi-final was played on Sunday between Marion Trethowan and Sheila Henderson.
Trethowan emerged the victor in a closely fought match.
