Rugby’s Nathan Munro’s (5-52) had a belter with the ball, with four clean dismissals, one of which eventually knocked over Wells.
Rugby’s other bowlers were also on target, Warren Saunders (1-18) picked up an important wicket dismissing Isaac Henderson (7), along with Matt Saul (1-23), bowling Pararajasingham, and Dan Horrocks (1-24) who surprised Ian Redpath (0) with a Zac Murphy catch.
While their efforts helped, they were simply not enough to allow Rugby, as they lost their efficiency with the bat.
In their reply things started off slowly, thanks to Pararajasingham (3-32) and the tight bowling of Strachan (3-25) who bowled three maidens in his nine overs.
Both opening batsmen Cameron Beach (9) and Glen Shepherd (11) were both out after just eight overs. With Strachan then claiming the wickets of Aiden Bennewith (1) and Doug North who was trapped leg before for a duck.
Jordan Moran ( 34) and Wayne Munro (15no) proved to be the only real difficulty for CYMS bowlers, while Munro remained until the end, Moran was eventually caught and bowled by CYMS captain Adam Wells (1-16).
Issac Henderson (3-10) was called into bowl later in the match and did so proficiently to limit any chance Rugby’s lower order batsmen had of establishing some much needed runs, as they finished significantly short, all out for 113.
Best and Fairest
