An information session for the party will take place at the Western Plains Cultural Centre on Saturday October 2 from 2pm.
The Reconcile Australia Party works under the motto of “Let’s Live It” and its major goal is to stand up for reconciliation in Australia.
The session is aimed at gaining membership to form the new party which is looking for members of indigenous and non-indigenous heritage, who want to ensure “the Indigenous Australia is represented in the Australian political landscape.”
The session is also looking for future representatives in the next Federal Election.
Speakers include Jennifer Stefanac, Tucky Tania Cooley and Ken Banning. Ms Stefanac and Ms Cooley ran as Independents for the Senate in the 2010 Federal Election hoping to be the first female Aboriginal representatives in the Upper House and have wanted to set up the party since.
The information session will be travelling around the state to raise awareness of the party and the issues it represents.
