The professional skateboarders, BMX and scooter riders are on their way to Bathurst, but Dubbo’s fullpipe claims their attention today.
The visit is part of a statewide tour in the lead-up to the Newton’s Nation extreme sports and music event at Mount Panorama, Bathurst on November 26 to 28.
“We are fortunate to have been included in the destinations of this unique tour,” Dubbo City Council youth development officer Jason Yelverton said.
“And being on a long weekend and during the school holidays makes it even better for local people to go along and check out the action.”
Some of the best pro and regional skateboarders, BMX and scooter riders will be on hand to showcase their skills at the event.
“Dubbo City Council is very proud to be supporting this event, which includes our own Adyn Burns who is a very talented skater,” Mr Yelverton said.
Dubbo is among a dozen regional centres hosting the Newton’s Nation tour.
“Orange, Lithgow, Bathurst, Cowra, Parkes and Forbes are also on the list of destinations,” Mr Yelverton said.
“However, the organisers have told me that Dubbo is one of the top facilities and was also one of the first to boast a fullpipe in the Southern Hemisphere.”
Newton’s Nation will be held in Dubbo from 11am to 2pm at the Victoria Park Action Precinct.
