Presenting six highly acclaimed films from Australia and the world, organisers and film enthusiasts alike are excited about what is on offer.
Festival manager Claudia Santangelo said it was great to be back.
“It’s exciting to return to Dubbo for the ninth Travelling Film Festival, screening Sydney Film Festival highlights and other world cinema hits,” she said.
“It’s a pleasure to bring the best on screen to regional Australia and offer Dubbo audiences quality films they would not otherwise get to see.”
The Dubbo Film Society works in conjunction with Ms Santangelo and the festival team to assist with presenting a unique program.
Society president Steve Clayton said it was important for regional audiences to have access to a wide range of films.
“The Travelling Film Festival is becoming a major drawcard for filmgoers and is well and truly a must-see fixture in the city’s cultural calendar,” he said.
“The Dubbo Film Society is well aware that film festivals are popular and well-supported events in Dubbo because they combine art, entertainment and social gathering.”
Last night’s opener was French film The Women on the 6th Floor, while other selections include Australia’s Toomelah and Lars von Trier’s Melancholia. Visit Reading Cinemas for tickets and screening times.
