This year the Dubbo Turf Club has taken a chance by bringing Ladies Day forward from its usual date at Easter, but president Mark Day is hopeful that racing enthusiasts will still come out and support the day.
Mr Day said he expected a crowd of between 1200 to 1500 for the races and looked forward to seeing the ladies out enjoying themselves.
“This event is really a day for the ladies,” Mr Day said.
“We will have the Gee-Gee Spot marquee which will kick off at 11am and will be full of great fashion advice from experts in hair and clothing.”
Local clothing store Klou owned by Kristen Montgomery has been bustling with local women this week as they try to buy fantastic frocks for the race day.
“There aren’t many events in the country that women can really get dressed up for, so women love to get dressed up for the races,” Mrs Montgomery said.
