The party’s top two Senate candidates, Paul Green and Robyn Peebles, visited Dubbo on Monday to address the region’s “strong” CDP branch. According to Mr Green the CDP had swapped preferences with The Nationals and Family First.

Mrs Peebles told the Daily Liberal Sharia law and the likelihood of The Greens holding the balance of power in tandem with an atheist Prime Minister, which she called a “socialistic atheistic” coalition, risked undermining Australia’s sovereignty.

The party’s leader, NSW upper house MP, Fred Nile labelled the August 21 poll “the most important in all of Australia’s history”, she said.

“If we don’t a have a seat of parliament the balance of power will actually be with The Greens. That will mean with a Labor and Greens coalition this country will be in jeopardy,” she said.

“In regards to social cohesion and losing the sovereignty of our nation.”

Mrs Peebles, who is contesting her eighth election and is a member of the party’s policy committee, believed influential Islamic clerics were imposing “Sharia law” on Australia.

“On the fourth of July Islamic leaders in Sydney declared they are going to form transnational Sharia law courts,” she said.

“If we had Sharia law we would not have freedom of speech.

“I don’t want to come across as inflammatory that’s not what we are trying to do all we want is Australia to remain under one law.”

Mrs Peebles said the trialling of ethics classes in 10 NSW public schools “could even be illegal” and had been introduced as part of an “underlying agenda”.

She said in some instances scripture classes had lost 50 per cent of their students to ethics classes.
