And that’s exactly who scores of local women will emulate tonight as they beat a path in their Manolo Blahniks to the premiere of Sex and the City 2.
Reading Cinemas Dubbo will screen two sessions of the movie, coinciding with its nationwide release, and that has Dubbo fans like Kate Grisinger “excited”.
Ms Grisinger would have hot-heeled it to Sydney, but found she could catch the flick and enjoy as much Manhattan glamour in downtown Dubbo.
She will be joined by friends Kristen Montgomery, Paige Williams and a private party of as many as 60 for tapas, drinks and then the cinema.
To them the movie, which started from a television series back in the 1990s, has two obvious attractions - fashion and friendship.
“I love their fashion, and particularly Sarah Jessica Parker’s ‘Carrie’ - she has a fantastic wardrobe,” Ms Grisinger said.
“You can’t compete with her, but she is admirable - or her wardrobe designer is.”
Series devotees who caught Big and Carrie’s wedding two years ago have to face a shock return of one character, but it has some smiling.
“I’m longing to see Aidan and wondering what will happen between Carrie and Aidan and what role Big will play,” Ms Grisinger said.
Ms Williams admitted she’d cheated on the movie’s plot, but refused to spoil it, saying only it would not surprise anyone.
Ms Montgomery is ready to soak up the sequel to a “rollercoaster” of emotion.
“That’s what you want your life to be - cocktails with the girls ... they tell each other everything and help each other out,” she said.
