Police are appealing for information after a man was injured during an aggravated break and enter in Dubbo.

About 2am on Wednesday, emergency services were called to a home on Bourke Street following reports of an aggravated break and enter.
On arrival, police were told two men had entered the home, before they were confronted by the occupant - a 40-year-old man.

A struggle ensured, during which the occupant sustained a stab wound and other minor injuries before being knocked unconscious.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation.
As part of their inquiries, police are urging anyone who may have information or saw anything unusual in the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
