The taxi charged through the front fence of the school, which was open for local council election voting.
Thankfully no one was in the vicinity or injured from the taxi, which did knock down a number of election posters.
The driver of the taxi told the Daily Liberal he was fine, but "shaken" from the incident.
"Very simple, I went to move forward and somehow my foot got under the brake instead of on it, and I must of hit the accelerator," he said.
"All I remember was I was trying to get my foot from out under the brake and I just charged through [the fence].
"I just about had it stopped by the time I hit that brick thing there."
"There wasn't a soul in sight, the bloke that witnessed it was parked across the road."
