Emergency services were called to the school just after 2.30pm on Thursday afternoon after reports a fire had engulfed a classroom.
All students were safely evacuated and accounted for. It's believed four classrooms and a community block were completely destroyed by fire.
A FRNSW spokesperson said a fire investigator had arrived in Dubbo on Friday morning, however due to the structural instability of the building were unable to gain access.
The investigations will continue over the weekend to determine the cause of the fire.
Several firefighters were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for heat related stress, one was taken to Dubbo hospital for fluids. The spokesperson said all had since recovered.
The school remained closed on Friday, and will not be open for local government election voting on Saturday.
