The Wellington Cowboys junior has developed into one of the best centres in the game since making his NRL debut in 2018.
Knee injuries have been an issue for much of the past two years, but 23-year-old is set to be fit for round one of the new season and has previously said he's open to a move to five-eighth to get his hands on the ball more.
But premiership-winning Bronco Corey Parkes isn't so keen, despite Staggs having previously impressed in the halves when representing Samoa.

"He is just not a half, and to put that pressure on Kotoni to go into the spine in my opinion, is going to hinder his game and also the team," Parker told Fox Sports.
"Kotoni Staggs is an enormous player and we have seen that he is the best centre in the game when he is fit.
"He just came back from a serious injury, he just needs to worry about playing football in the centres.
"There was a lot of talk about when he re-signed on the money he was on that he would move to the halves.
"That could just be a justification for signing him for that sort of money."
Parkes has backed Albert Kelly to partner new signing Adam Reynolds in the halves in 2022.
Reynolds is one of the major additions to the side for next season, alongside Penrith premiership winner Kurt Capewell and Ryan James.
"I think we're building something and we're going to add some new players, which will help," Staggs told the Broncos' official website last month.
A number of younger players at the Broncos have also been tipped to play a major role in 2022 as the Broncos look for a return to the NRL finals for the first time since 2019.
While Staggs is only 23 himself, he added he's keen to step up and take on a leadership role within the Kevin Walkers-coached Broncos team.
